Volunteer Strike Force
The College Republican National Committee’s grassroots campaign program.
About The Force
What it is
The Volunteer Strike Force is the national grassroots campaign program for College Republicans.
How does it work
Program participants are connected with and trained for volunteer opportunities to support Republican candidates in target races by engaging voters over the phone and door-to-door.
Using an app that masks their number and queues up voters, participants can make calls from anywhere! Participants with more availability and looking to make an even bigger impact will travel to key districts for day and weekend long door knocking deployments.
Who can join
Anyone who is an active member of a CRNC affiliated chapter is eligible to join.
Membership is also available on a case-by-case basis to those interested in helping out but not an active member of College Republicans. Please contact us if you’re interested.
Current Activities
Individual Call Competition
VSF Participants make calls for candidates without ever leaving campus. Using an app that hides the volunteers’ personal phone number, CRs call voters and encourage them to vote Republican using a script provided in the app.
There are no quotas or minimum number of calls that have to be made. And, within normal waking hours, VSF participants can make calls whenever they have time.

Door Knocking Deployment
Every year the CRNC hosts a national Door Knocking Deployment where College Republicans from all across the country gather in a single location to spend a weekend knocking doors.
The History
Launched in 2020 in partnership with the RNC, the Volunteer Strike Force is the CRNC’s campaign coalition. It was originally designed to support the 2020 elections, but the unexpected Georgia Runoffs showed the need to maintain a standing program of College Republicans always at-the-ready to hit the ground and GOTV (Get-Out-The-Vote) for Republicans.
CRNC-Sponsored Chapter Call Night
Through VSF, chapters can host a phone bank sponsored by CRNC where CRNC provides a training, tech support, app access, and a meal to all participants.
Call nights with more than 7 people are eligible for prizes for top performers.
In 2021, the Volunteer Strike Force supported the election of Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin! Throughout the campaign season, we made calls from afar. And, when Election Day drew near, students from all along the East Coast and across the southern states deployed to Richmond, Virginia, knocking doors during the day and putting together yard signs at night. On breaks, we hand-wrote notes to voters, and at the end of it all, we rallied and celebrated our victory!
During the 2022 Midterms, College Republicans were involved in key races nationwide. From Ohio and Maine to Kansas and Florida, we helped Republicans in tight races for several months leading up to Election Day making about HALF A MILLION voter contacts throughout the cycle. The CRNC sponsored phone banks for chapters and hosted blockwalking events which ultimately helped Republicans take back the House.
In 2023, the CRNC again targeted Virginia with those too far away making calls and those in state knocking doors every weekend. Throughout the 2023 campaign season College Republicans also provided support to local elections throughout the country including in Iowa, New Jersey, and Kentucky. In the final weekend before Election Day, CRNC hosted a weekend-long canvassing event is Northern Virginia where students from surrounding states came to knock doors for three full days knocking an average of over 100 doors per day each!
Today
This year we’re targeting congressional races in Florida, Maine, Virginia, and Wisconsin. Additional targets may be added as resources and interest allow, and state/local race targets will be selected further along in the election cycle.
