  • A: Anyone listed as an executive committee in your club constitution. If your club constitution doesn’t specify, you should include anyone who is elected to a position of leadership in the club. You should have at least 4 officers:

    Chair/President,

    Vice Chair/Vice President,

    Secretary

    Treasurer

  • A: Yes, if you have appointed leadership positions (like a philanthropy chair, recruitment director, etc.) you should include those individuals as well, but note that they are not elected by adding an asterisk (*) next to their name.

  • You’ll need to make your own copy. This video will show you how to do that.

Alternatively, you can download a copy of the template as an Excel file and edit it from there.

  • A: You should provide the phone numbers you have and include the other members without their phone numbers.

  • A: Ten, but if you have more than 10 members and list only 10, then you may end up receiving fewer resources as some resources are distributed based on membership size.

  • A: This policy usually does not include sharing information with national organization of which a student organization is a member club, but regardless of whether or not it applies, you should contact members individually to seek permission to share their information. You can do this a few different ways:

You can email each member and ask for them to reply confirming that they consent to having their information provided with the national organization.

You can create a Google form to re-collect the information of each member and include a question seeking consent to share their information.

  • A: Phone numbers are used primarily to verify a student’s membership in the club. We never sell phone numbers or other personal information. Very occasionally we send mass texts to students for limited purposes like during deployments; however, we always make opting out clear and immediate.

The daily automated texts from every brand we’ve ever interacted with drive us crazy, too.

General

  • A: Unfortunately, no, you must complete the entire application in one sitting. We’re working to add that function in the future!

  • Yes! February 1 is the deadline every year for chartered chapters to re-charter. Any chapters that fail to re-charter will lose their charter; however, formerly chartered chapters and new groups can apply for a charter at any time throughout the year.

  • The deadline matters for two reasons:

    1. A late submission (after February 1) by a chartered chapter will result in a lapse in the group’s charter. During that lapse, the group will not be eligible for any CRNC resources or benefits.

    2. The sooner you re/charter, the sooner you get a spring chapter box.

    3. During years in which there is a biennial convention, applications are used for credentials, and the credentialing deadline is February 1.

Chapters that submit by January 15 will also receive a CRNC Flag with their chapter box!

  • A: If you don’t have a federation email address, you can provide the email address of the state federation chairman.

  • You’ll have to make a duplicate of the sheet. Watch this video explanation if you need help.

Alternatively, you can download the template as an Excel file.

General

  • A: Yes, February 1 is the deadline every year for chartered federations to re-charter. Any federation that fails to re-charter will lose its charter. however, formerly chartered federations can apply late. Depending on how late a formerly chartered federation applies, reorganization may be required first before the application will be accepted.

  • The deadline matters because charter applications are used for credentials during convention years, and the deadline to submit credentials is February 1. Additionally, formerly chartered federations that submit a late application may be subject to reorganization prior to re-admittance.
